Discover the art of pine needle basketry and connect with nature through this hands-on class. Connect to nature and creativity as you learn to weave your first pine needle basket!
Saturday, October 11th, and Sunday, October 12th
11 am - approximately 2 pm each day
Held in Woodland Park near Green Lake in Seattle. We will sit in a covered table area in the event of rain. Specific location instructions provided upon sign up.
I will attentively guide you in:
- A visualization about pine trees to deepen your connection to the trees and ground into the senses 
- Learning about Coast Salish basket traditions through visual learning and a short video 
- Discussion of pine needle collection and storage as you prepare the pine needles for weaving 
- Building basketry knowledge: learn the difference between coil and warp/weft baskets 
- Learning all the skills you need to make your own basket 
By the end of class, you will have completed your own basket! I will provide:
- An engaging and grounding learning experience, approximately 6 hours long 
- All supplies 
- A weaving summary for your future use 
- A selection of curated videos for your future reference 
Cost is $175 per person
