Back to My Senses
I like to run with my hair down
on forest trails
my gravity
tumbling downhill
footfall at a time
until toes
meet sand
meet sea
dipping under
with inertia
I see blue from inside out,
like the seals do
follicles that flowed
now delight in aquatic suspension
synapses sparkle and proclaim that each moment is new
I let go of tree tunneled paths, well worn
to embrace Other
caressed by seaweed,
I emerge
standing tall
rivers drip down my spine
returned to skin,
like selkie to silver
it feels right in
my body
and my bones
I changed my mind
and now
the horizon opens wide
for me and the setting sun
born in a glimmer
re-membering myself anew
I come back to my senses
